I Miss the Ancient River

Lo and behold.. somehow I made it here to be able to type.  hahahaa It's been MONTHS if not YEARS since I've been to the river to hunt again.  I suffered a massive stroke a few months back from shooting meth and lost the use of the left side of my body.  Had to relearn how to walk all over again... that was fun.  So I've just been taking it easy living here at the condo Dad bought.  He moved out to be with this little 20 year old Christian chick named Faith.   We still don't get along very well.  Oh well, it is what it is!  Glad to be able to post here again after so long!  If I find anything worthy of note I'll try to get back here and post it!

Fossil Preparation Laboratory (Erfoud, Morocco)

I found this video of a very impressive fossil preparation laboratory in Morocco that will be the reference model for what I must build here in Tulsa to preserve the ancient past.

Gary Atlatl Dart 1 15/16" (Frisco Chert?)

Image
Found a nice little Gary atlatl dart  (projectile point)  while poking around at my favorite place in the world to be, the ancient Arkansas River in Northeast Oklahoma.  This little guy was buried under a layer of oil-saturated organic material, mostly leaves, and was quite a surprise!  It measures only 1 15/16" and appears to be made from Frisco chert that has not been heat-treated, meaning it was probably very difficult to make.  Here are some pictures :) Gary Atlatl Dart 1 15/16"  ( Frisco Chert ?)
